Dave Hill

Dev In Test Lead

Q: How do you describe your role?
A: On a typical work day at Dun & Bradstreet you can find me building tools and frameworks with any department that has a process to be improved, helping them automate manual processes.

My favorite part of the job is seeing a process that previously took days or weeks to complete, done in seconds or minutes without any manual intervention.

Q: What project did you work on recently that you were proud of?
A: I've tackled two separate issues with the implementation of a graduate program in the company, allowing me to use the additional capacity within Dun & Bradstreet to tackle more manual processes - particularly in areas outside of the Technology department such as Data Content and People departments, as well as streamlining the ingestion of new talent into the organization.

Q: What skills or characteristics have helped you succeed in your role?
A: I always believe there is a better way to do any process, and I'm never afraid to try and help another person or team to make their efforts easier, allowing them to focus more on the things that matter.

Q: What do you find unique about the work culture at D&B?
A: Dun & Bradstreet has given me great support in my career in letting me take chances on initiatives and projects inside and outside the scope of my role. The teams are incredible and have a desire to get work done, resulting in a satisfying and rewarding experience in the organization.

Q: When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
A: I love learning more about different areas of technology. I usually have a side-project or am enrolled in a course at any time. When I want to unwind a little more, I'm a big fan of playing computer games, especially with my kids.
